The Billboard Music Awards celebrate the greatest achievements of music, with finalists that are determined by performance on the Billboard charts. Winners and finalists are based on major fan interactions with music. These interactions include streaming, album and digital song sales, social engagement, and radio airplay. These are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, comprising MRC Data. The awards for 2021 are based on the chart period from 21st March 2020 to 3rd April 2021.
For the record, “Dynamite” was last performed by BTS at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards from South Korea in a remote manner. The band’s “Butter” performance, which is due out in 21st May, will also be held in a remote manner. This year’s performers comprise P!nk and The Weeknd, who will be receiving the Icon Award that honors record breaking artists and their effect on music.
