PaaS company Laminar nabs $5.1Mn in funding to scale global footprint

Laminar Global, an enterprise-grade video streaming solution provider, has recently secured $5.1 million in the seed funding round as it plans to scale its business and global footprint. The funding round – headed by Garuda Ventures, Sampson Acquisitions, Artha India Ventures, and Cloudcap – comes at a time when there is a rapid adoption of cloud-based software solutions among media houses.

Laminar CEO, Narendra Nag said that this investment will help the company to scale its business and expand its global reach. At present, Laminar has a presence in Atlanta, London, Singapore, Toronto, New Delhi, and Dubai with an engineering team based out of Spain's Barcelona and Poland's Wroclaw.

Leo Capital founding partner, Rajul Garg says that as media companies are witnessing content consumption robustly shifting away from satellite, cable and DTH across the globe, Laminar’s product will assist media firms who are hesitant to spend time and money in re-inventing the whole video streaming infrastructure.

Apparently, Laminar also offers a video streaming facility called Chaupal to its numerous clients. This service emphasizes on regional language content including, Haryanvi, Bhojpuri, and Punjabi.

The company claims that Chaupal has extended its services in approximately 110 countries in just 12 weeks with customized content, plan and user interface which can be streamed on various video-streaming gadgets.

Founded in 2020 by Narendra Nag, Tirthraj Singh, Raheel Khursheed, Yin Shanyang, and Kumar Shorav, Laminar also has clients in the US, South Asia, and South-East Asia. The company also claims that it enables media companies to launch a global video streaming interface in 12-weeks.

With Laminar’s services, media companies get the ability to set multiple monetization options, customize and launch apps across all platforms, fulfill all tax and compliance requirements and have complete data and analytics suite.
