Following multiple consumer requests, RXBAR has recently launched a line of completely vegan, plant-based protein bars. The nutrition bar replaces egg whites with a blend of pea and almond protein paired with dates, oats and nuts. RXBAR has introduced the new variants in two flavors: Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter.
Apparently, a consistent demand for a plant-based product led the company to work on and create the egg-free nutrition bars. The company aims to deliver great quality as well as taste and capitalize on acquiring the vegan consumer market over time.
The protein bars are currently available for to be purchased online through the company’s website, with retail planned in the future through Target, Kroger and more.
As reported, between 2018 to 2020, plant-based claims on food and drink packaging increased by 116%, while retail sales of plant-based alternatives to animal products saw a rise of 27% to $7 billion last year.
RXBAR is apparently going to deliver free plant-based wellness programming through its social media platforms to commemorate the debut of its vegan bars, with guest hosts including registered dietitian Mia Zarlengo, gym owner/fitness teacher Peter Kraus and fitness and mindfulness guru Ally Love.
Zarlengo commented on the company’s initiative by saying that plant-based protein bars that taste great while providing the necessary nutrients a person needs are difficult to obtain. Beyond Meat a vegan business, has also contributed to the success of athletes through its campaign, which features NBA stars Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Jordan as ambassadors.
Plant-based nutrition has gained traction in the sports business in recent years, with some great athletes such as tennis pro Venus Williams following a plant-based diet for many years. She switched to a plant-based diet in 2011 to combat the symptoms of her autoimmune illness that left her exhausted and in agony.
